Knock Knock Poem
“Knock Knock” whispers the girl that I was
“Open the door to dreams and loves you had.
Open the door from which you came.
Open the door to your childish fears
Open the door to a world in which French was like your mother tongue.
Open the door to a time when you feared everything but still allowed yourself to jump.”
“Knock Knock” now speaks the young women that I’ve become
“Open your eyes to what you have now
Allow yourself to enjoy the blossoms of your new loves
Open your eyes to your fear of the end
Enjoy the music of the great composers and dance when you hear jazz.
Let your long hair down when you’re with friends and be happy.”
“Knock Knock” shouts the person I can become
“Keep dreaming of big and small things
Dream of one day sharing happiness through a flower shop
Dream of having a secret garden of your own
Dream of the song of birds and you will wake up with feathers on your pillow
Dream of teaching and never be afraid of your dreams”
So knock knock to the past
Knock knock to the present
Knock knock to the future
And knock knock to the three part harmony they make
