Silence

Never and nothing seems enough
after so many quarter rests
even the child’s ballad ended                                                                                                                         
      but is it enough? Is it?
Cannot a quarter rest be a mother’s desperation
        can’t it be the last true cry for help?
Is not silence in a song a plea out of desperation?
A quarter rest
is never and nothing                                                       
                      it is everything and eternity
how we choose to use the rest is up to us.
So never and nothing has to be enough                                                                                                        
   even if it is rough.
            Silence
can be an orchestral piece
to one who cannot hear.
